Setting up Cisco Jabber for Android

Jabber simplifies communication and enhances productivity by unifying presence, instant messaging, video, voice messaging, desktop sharing, and conferencing capabilities into a secure easy-to-use app.

Use the instructions below to log in to Jabber on your Android device. If you want to use Jabber on a tablet, send an email message to consultant@northwestern.edu asking that your Jabber account be given tablet access.

Install Jabber

Download Cisco Jabber from Google Play.

Log in to Jabber

  1. When you open Jabber for the first time, you will see a blank prompt. You may also see this screen when the app is updated, or if you reset the Jabber app. Enter your full @northwestern.edu email address, then click Continue. If you have a @kellogg.northwestern.edu or @law.northwestern.edu email address, you need to enter netid@northwestern.edu instead.

  2. When prompted for a username and password, enter your NetID and NetID password, then click Login.
