Exchange Email Troubleshooting: Message "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available.."
Some users have seen an error while setting up Outlook to connect to a Northwestern Exchange account.
During auto-discover, the auto-discover fails with the following error:
In some cases, this can be resolved by:
- installing software updates
- restarting the computer
- trying auto-discover again.
In some cases, setting the AutoDiscover registry key ("ExcludeHttpsRootDomain") described in Outlook 2016, 2013 and 2010 SSL Cert Solution seemed to fix the problem.
It may also be necessary to turn on Outlook logging and escalation to Exchange administrators.
