Creating a Blanket Order Requisition in NUFinancials (Quick Reference)

This job aid outlines the basic steps for creating a Blanket Requisition.

Create a Blanket Requisition

Navigation: Log into NUFinancials > Employee Self Service > Requisition Tile
  1. Click Create New Requisition.
  2. Click Special Requests.
  3. Enter Item Description.
  4. Enter Price.
  5. Enter Quantity. For all blanket requisitions, ALWAYS enter 1.
  6. Enter Unit of Measure. For all special requisitions, ALWAYS enter EA.
  7. Click the Category magnifying glass to look up the categories.
  8. Choose the Category link that best describes the item.
  9. Click the Supplier Name magnifying glass to run a search for the supplier directly from this field.
  10. Enter the name of the Supplier in the Name field.
    1. Select only the supplier with the address that matches your ordering form or source address.
    2. If the supplier is found but the address is wrong, update the address by submitting a Supplier Change Request.
    3. If no results are found for your supplier, you can request to add the supplier to NUFinancials by creating a Supplier Registration.
  11. Click Find.
  12. Click the Supplier ID link to select the Supplier.
  13. In Supplier Item ID, type the supplier catalog identification, if applicable.
  14. Enter comments into the Additional Information field, if needed.
  15. Optional: Click Send to Supplier checkbox if the comments should be sent with the purchase order.
  16. Click Add to Cart to add the item to your shopping cart.
  17. Click Checkout, once you are done adding line items.
  18. Enter Requisition Name (beginning with BLK or other naming convention as determined by your school/department so it is easily recognizable as a blanket when viewing your list of requisitions)
  19. Click on the Requisition Type magnifying glass.
  20. Select Blanket Order.
  21. Click Edit next to the comment bubble to add an attachments.
  22. Click Add Attachment > Choose File > Upload > OK.
  23. Click the Triangle next to that line item, to view the hidden section that contains the Ship To and Chart String fields for a line item.
  24. Click the magnifying glass next Ship To.
  25. Click Look Up and choose a Location ID.
  26. Click the triangle next to Accounting Lines, to view the hidden section that contains the chart string fields for a line item.
  27. Click Chartfield2.
  28. Enter Fund Code.
  29. Enter Department (Dept) Code.
  30. Enter Account Code.
  31. Click the Line Details icon line details(Located at right hand side for each requisition line)
  32. Select the Amount Only checkbox.
  33. Click OK.
  34. Enter Requisition Comments.
  35. Enter Approval Justification comment.
  36. Click Check Budget.
    1. The budget check ensures the chart string(s) is valid and has no spending controls against it that would prevent you from submitting the requisition.
    2. Successful budget checking pre-encumbers or earmarks the funds.
  37. A pop-up message appears regarding saving and budget checking the transaction. Click OK.
  38. Click Save & Submit.
