Resolving "An error occurred while processing your request" error when logging into Northwestern Box

When logging into Northwestern Box from a web browser or Box Sync, you may receive an "error occurred while processing your request" message. This is a known issue that has the following workaround.

  1. Right-click inside the browser window and select Reload Page, Reload, or Refresh depending on your web browser. You may need to reload the browser as many as four times.
  2. If this does not resolve your issue, clear the cookies and cache for your browser.
  3. If you still cannot access Box after clearing your cookies and cache, contact the IT Support Center at 847-491-4357 (1-HELP) or consultant@northwestern.edu.
