Fixing the Northwestern Wireless Error on Windows: "Unable to connect to the network, please contact your administrator"

This article explains how to solve the error "Unable to connect to the network, please contact your administrator" on a windows machine. This is usually indicative of a password that is incorrectly saved.

"eduroam" will be the primary wireless network at Northwestern on December 20, 2021. The "Northwestern” network/SSID will no longer be a visible choice for connecting to the University’s wireless network during the fall quarter of 2021 and no longer an available connection on December 20, 2021.   1. Go to Northwestern Wireless Network Properties.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Under Selected Authentication Method click Advanced Settings.
  4. Check the Specify Authentication Mode box.
  5. Select User Authentication from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click Save Credentials and enter your NetID and NetID password in the pop-up window.
