Setting up Cisco Jabber for iOS (iPhone or iPad)

Jabber simplifies communication and enhances productivity by unifying presence, instant messaging, video, voice messaging, desktop sharing, and conferencing capabilities into a secure easy-to-use app.

Use the instructions below to log in to Jabber on your iOS device. If you want to use Jabber on an iPad, send an email message to consultant@northwestern.edu asking that your Jabber account be given tablet access.

Install Jabber

Download Cisco Jabber from the iOS App Store.

Log in to Jabber

  1. When you open Jabber for the first time, you will see a blank prompt. You may also see this screen when the app is updated, or if you reset the Jabber app. Enter your full @northwestern.edu email address, then click Continue. If you have a @kellogg.northwestern.edu or @law.northwestern.edu email address, remove the kellogg or law subdomain from the address and enter youralias@northwestern.edu instead.

  2. When prompted for a username and password, enter your NetID and NetID password, then click Login.
