Editing and managing files in Northwestern Box using Box Drive and Box Edit
There are multiple ways to create and edit content in your Northwestern Box account.
Box Drive
Box Drive is a desktop program that allows you to stream files to your desktop
using your internet connection, and optionally download folders and files for offline use. You can create, edit, and
manage files using the Box folder on your computer, or create files on your computer and then put them in the Box
folder. Any changes made on Box.com or in the Box folder on your computer are synced automatically.
Unlike Box Sync, which downloads files to your hard drive, Box Drive does not use space on your hard drive unless you choose to use folders offline.
See the Using Box Drive Basics article on the Box Community website for more information.

Box Edit
Box Edit is an add-on feature built into Box which that allows you to create and edit files
directly from the
Northwestern Box website. Box Edit uses the default application installed on your computer to edit or create
simple and centralized content. For example, .doc and .docx files open in Microsoft Word, .ppt and .pptx files open
in Microsoft PowerPoint, and images open in Photoshop (if installed). For more information, visit
the Opening and Editing Files with Box
Edit article at the Box Community website.
