Installing a security certificate for Northwestern Wireless on macOS

Sometimes you may need to re-install a security certificate to use Northwestern Wireless.

"eduroam" will be the primary wireless network at Northwestern on December 20, 2021. The "Northwestern” network/SSID will no longer be a visible choice for connecting to the University’s wireless network during the fall quarter of 2021 and no longer an available connection on December 20, 2021.   1. Download the security certificate at
  2. Locate the file by opening Finder, then selecting from the left the Downloads section.
  3. Double click the certificate file to automatically open it and add the certificate to the Keychain. If you are prompted for an administrative password, enter it to continue. If you don't have administrative access to your computer, contact your departmental tech support.
