OneDrive error: "There was a problem connecting to OneDrive"

There is a known issue where a user is trying to log into OneDrive for Windows or OneDrive for Mac and they authenticate successfully. However, users receive the error message: "There was a problem connecting to OneDrive. You don't have the access to this service. For help, contact your IT department. (Error Code 0x8004deef)

To resolve this issue, please visit and login. After a successful login, users can then log in with the local OneDrive application. If they continue to receive this error message after 24 hours, contact or call 847-491-4357 (1-HELP) and report the error message.
